Francesca Faridany & Kate Mulgrew will star in the world premiere of Lauren Gunderson's The Hali-Life of Marie Curie at the Minetta Lane Theatre from November 12, 2019.
Audible Inc. will present the world premiere of The Half-Life of Marie Curie, starring Obie Award winner Kate Mulgrew and Francesca Faridany, scheduled to play a limited engagement at Off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theatre from November 12 through December 22, 2019, with an official opening on November 19.
Commissioned by Audible Theater, the play is written by Lauren Gunderson, who currently holds the title as America's most-produced living playwright, and the production is directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch.
Synopsis: "Science made them remarkable. Friendship made them resilient. The Half-Life of Marie Curie is a compelling new play about renowned scientist Marie Curie and radical engineer Hertha Ayrton—and the friendship that strengthened their resolve to pursue their ambitions."
Kate Mulgrew, perhaps best known for her TV role as Galina 'Red' Reznikov on Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black," last appeared Off-Broadway in Somewhere Fun at the Vineyard Theatre in 2013 and last appeared on Broadway in the 2008 revival of Equus. She takes on the role of Hertha Ayrton in the Audible Theater world premiere. Starring as Marie Curie is Francesca Faridany, whose previous Broadway credits include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, the 2013 revival of Macbeth, Man and Boy, The 39 Steps, and The Homecoming.
The creative team behind The Half-Life of Marie Curie features scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Amith Chandrashaker, and sound design by Darron L. West.
As with all Audbile Theater productions, the play will be recorded and preserved as an audio play for millions of consumers around the world.
The Half-Life of Marie Curie Tickets are available now for performances from November 12 through December 22, 2019.
