Atlantic Theatre Company's 2005-2006 season
Atlantic Theatre Company's 20th Anniversary 2005 - 2006 season of four productions include one world premiere, one American premiere and one New York Premiere. The season features plays by Rolin Jones, Harold Pinter & Martin McDonagh, with a new musical by Duncan Sheik & Steven Sater.
All the productions will take place at the company's own space, The Atlantic Theatre.
New York premiere of The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow , a comedy by Rolin Jones, director Jackson Gay and starring Julienne Hanzelka Kim, Ryan King and Matthew Rauch.
Jennifer is just an average girl who re-engineers obsolete missile components for the U.S. Army from her bedroom. Afraid to leave her house, yet desperate to find her birth mother in China, she uses her technological genius to devise a new form of human contact.

Double Bill: Celebration & The Room , by Harold Pinter, director Neil Pepe.
Celebration opens on a wedding anniversary in an ultra-trendy restaurant, with three successful couples jockeying for the upper hand. In contrast, The Room descends into a nightmare world of insecurity and uncertainty in a shabby one-room London flat. Although separated by more than 40 years, both plays resonate with the human desperation to find safe haven in a threatening world.

American premiere of Lieutenant Of Inishmore, by Martin McDonagh, director Wilson Milam.
Set in 1993 in County Galway on the rocky island of Inishmore, off the coast of Ireland. Padraic is a terrorist with no feeling for those he kills, yet has an obsessive attachment to Thomas, his beloved cat. But someone has murdered poor wee Thomas. Was it an accident or an execution? Either way, the death must be concealed before 'Mad Padraic' returns from a stint of torture and bombing. Otherwise the recriminations will be horrifying.

World premiere of the musical Spring Awakening , music by Duncan Sheik, book and lyrics by Steven Sater, director Michael Mayer.
Adapted from Frank Wedekind's controversial masterpiece about the bold depiction of teenagers' sexual awakenings and their consequences in a puritanical societ.

Atlantic Theatre Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Andrew D. Hamingson, Managing Director) is the award winning Off-Broadway theater dedicated to producing great plays simply and truthfully utilizing an artistic ensemble. Since it's inception in 1985, Atlantic has produced more than 100 plays including the Tony Award winning production of 'The Beauty Queen Of Leenane,' the world premieres of Woody Allen's 'A Second Hand Memory' and 'Writer's Block,' last season's hit World Premiere of David Mamet's 'Romance', the American premieres of 'Blue/Orange,' 'Dublin Carol' and 'The Night Heron,' the New York premiere of 'The Cider House Rules,' the revivals of 'American Buffalo,' 'Edmond,' 'Mojo,' 'Minutes From The Blue Route' and 'Hobson's Choice.'
Atlantic maintains an ensemble of actors, writers and directors including David Mamet (playwright and director) and William H. Macy (Academy Award nominee for Fargo), who founded Atlantic twenty years ago in 1985.
