Arias with a Twist at the HERE Arts Center

Here Arts Center�S Dream Music Puppetry Program & Tandem Otter Productions in association with Johnnie Moore present Arias with a Twist, created and performed by Joey Arias and Basil Twist, opening at the HERE Arts Center on 18 Jun 2008, following previews from 12 Jun and running through to 13 Jul 2008.

Arias with a Twist: Twist�s magic envelopes Arias� voice, transporting us to unpredictable worlds, channeling ecstatic desires, lavish nightmares and bizarre premonitions in a bejeweled cabinet of curiosities.

Originally from San Francisco, Basil Twist is a third generation puppeteer who lives and works in New York City. He is the sole American graduate of the Ecole Superieure National des Arts de la Marionnette in France.

Drag diva Joey Arias, a central figure in the underground New York art scene responsible for recreating drag as high art, Arias has performed worldwide at venues including Carnegie Hall, The Freedom Theatre in London and on a transatlantic world tour into the cabaret clubs of Paris, Tokyo, Germany, Canada and England.

The creative team comprises Thierry M. Mugler (costumes), Ayumu 'Poe' Saegusa (lighting) and Greg Duffin (sound).
