American Son, starring Kerry Washington & Steven Pasquale, begins performances on Broadway
An official opening for the Broadway premiere is set for November 4, 2018, at the Booth Theatre.
The Broadway premiere of American Son, written by Christopher Demos-Brown and directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, begins previews at the Booth Theatre tonight, ahead of an official opening on November 4 and a limited engagement through to January 27, 2019.
Synopsis: "Do you know where your children are? A Florida police station in the middle of the night; a mother searching for her missing teenage son. American Son is a gripping tale of two parents caught in our national divide, with their worst fears hanging in the balance."
The cast of American Son includes Golden Globe & Emmy Award nominee Kerry Washington (as Kendra Ellis-Connor), Drama Desk nominee Steven Pasquale (as Scott Connor), Tony Award nominee Jeremy Jordan (as Officer Paul Larkin), and Eugene Lee (as Lieutenant John Stokes).
The creative team behind American Son features scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, and sound design by Peter Fitzgerald.
American Son is produced on Broadway by Kerry Washington's Simpson Street, Jeffry Richards, Rebecca Gold, Will Trice, Shonda Rhimes, Jada Pinkett Smith, Gabrielle Union-Wade, Dwyane Wade, Steve Stoute and Nnamdi Asomugha.
American Son Tickets are available now for performances through to January 27, 2019.
