Amanda Seyfried joins Second Stages' The Way We Get By

Second Stage Theatre has announced that film star Amanda Seyfried will join the cast for its upcoming production of Neil LaBute's The Way We Get By, which begins previews on 12 May 2015 at the Tony Kiser Theatre, and continues its limited engagement to 28 June 2015.

Seyfried will make her off-Broadway debut as 'Beth' opposite Thomas Sadoski as Doug, replacing the previously announced Tatiana Maslany who has withdrawn due to filming conflicts.

Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman directs the production which also features set designs by Neil Patel, lighting design by Matthew Frey and sound design by Jill BC Du Boff.

"Meet Beth and Doug: two people who have no problems getting dates with their partners of choice. What they do have, however, is a very awkward encounter after spending one hot night together following a drunken wedding reception they attend. They wake up to a blurry morning where the rules of attraction, sex and society are waiting for them before their first cup of coffee, which leads them to ponder how much they really know about each other and how much they really care about what other people think."

Amanda Seyfried's film credits include 'Mamma Mia', 'Les Miserables' and 'Mean Girls'. She will star in the upcoming films 'Ted 2' and 'While We're Young' alongside Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts.

The Way We Get By will mark Thomas Sadoski's sixth collaboration with Second Stage Theatre, following 'Becky Shaw', 'Reckless', 'Gemini', 'All This Intimacy' and 'This Is Our Youth'. On television, Sadoski stars in HBO's 'The Newsroom'.
