A Small Fire extends run by one week

Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension of its World Premiere production of A Small Fire, a new play by Obie Award winner Adam Bock.

Originally set to play a limited engagement through to 23 Jan 2011, the production will now extend one week through to 30 Jan 2011 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater. The additional week represents the only extension possible.

Directed by Trip Cullman, and starring Reed Birney (John), Celia Keenan-Bolger (Jenny), Michele Pawk (Emily) and Victor Williams (Billy), the production opend at Playwrights Horizons on 6 Jan 2011, following previews from 16 Dec 2010.

When a tough-as-nails contractor (Ms. Pawk) finds her senses slipping on the brink of her daughter's (Ms. Keenan-Bolger) wedding, the impact on her family is nothing less than seismic. A Small Fire is a human parable in which unexpected loss leads to an unlikely love story.

The production features scenic design by Loy Arcenas, costume design by Ilona Somogyi, lighting design by David Weiner and sound design by Robert Kaplowitz.
