'A Little Rebellion Now' at 59E59 Theater

Reverie Productions presents a workshop production of A Little Rebellion Now, by Lisa Voss, at 59E59's Theater C from the 4 - 6 Mar 2005

In A Little Rebellion Now, D.C. statehood activists form an uneasy alliance with IMF-World Bank protestors and attempt to secede from the Union. Branded as "terrorists," the rebels soon find themselves facing down armed US soldiers, and resolve to stand their ground as a peaceful protest becomes bloody in the back yard of the Bush administration.

A Little Rebellion Now is directed by Susanna Harris. The cast features Lionel Gentle, Joan Green, Suzette Gunn, Garrett Lee Hendricks, Siobhan Parisi, Dan Renkin, Jessenia Rivas, Margot White, and Derek T. Bell.

Washington, D.C., resident, Lisa Voss is a playwright and writing teacher whose work has been produced in D.C., NYC, Seattle, and Hollywood. In 2004, her play 'Smrty Spice And The Serial Killer' won the 2004 Spotlight On Writer's Award for Best One-Act or Short Form Play. Other NYC productions and readings include 'Psychodrama', 'Tiny Madmen', and 'MJ And The Ghost'.

A Little Rebellion Now was the winner of Reverie Productions' 2004 Next Generation Playwriting Contest, chosen from close to 200 plays from playwrights in five countries and 40 states.
