A Kiss From Alexander at TBG Arts Center

Dennis Grimaldi Productions presents A Kiss From Alexander, a musical comedy with book & lyrics by Stephan De Ghelder, and music by Brad Simmons, opening at TBG Arts Center on 26 May 2007, following previews from 24 May and running through to 2 Jun 2007.

A Kiss From Alexander: It's the East Village where attractive director Nick Matthews is staging 'Alexander Was Great!' an over-the-top gay musical that portrays the ancient Macedonian world conqueror as a royal party animal. Alexander himself - now a deity - is restored to mortal life as a beautiful and gifted actor, sent to Earth to foil Nick's blasphemous show. Alex (Alexander) almost succeeds, until he discovers that Nick is the reincarnation of his great love, Haephestion, thereby sending what was a campy, backstage musical into a romantic tailspin. Their immortal love blazes anew and the plot takes a whole new twist.

Directed and choreographed by DJ Salisbury, A Kiss From Alexander features Jeremiah James (Nick Matthews), Jamison Stern (Augie De Beers), Eddie Rabon (Craig), Justin Wilcox (Frank), Charles Logan (Cary), Gavin Esham (Brad Berenson), Justin Wilcox (Guardian), Craig Ramsey (Alexander the Great), Brendt Reil (David), Matthew Marks (Tony) and 'Knuckles' Simmons (Pianist).

Set design by Michael Hotopp, with costumes by David Toser.
