A Catered Affair: Tickets are now on sale to the general public

Tickets went on sale to the general public today (16 Feb 2008) for A Catered Affair, a new musical comedy, with book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, score by John Bucchino and directed by Tony Award-winner John Doyle, opening at the Walter Kerr Theatre on 17 Apr 2007, following previews from 25 Mar 2007.

Based on the 1956 Turner Entertainment motion picture written by Gore Vidal, and the original teleplay by Paddy Chayefsky, A Catered Affair reveals relationships strained to their limits when a couple must decide whether to spend their life savings on a family business or to launch their only daughter's marriage with a lavish catered affair.

The cast for A Catered Affair features Harvey Fierstein, Faith Prince (Aggie Hurley), Leslie Kritzer (Jane Hurley), Tom Wopat (Tom Hurley), Matt Cavenaugh (Ralph Halloran), Philip Hoffman, Katie Klaus, Heather MacRae, Lori Wilner and Kristine Zbornik.

The design team is comprised of David Gallo (sets), Ann Hould-Ward (costumes), Brian MacDevitt (lighting) and Dan Moses Schreier (sound).

A Catered Affair had its world premiere at at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, where performances ran from 20 Sep 2007 - 4 Nov 2007.

The musical is being produced on Broadway by Jujamcyn Theaters, Harvey Entertainment/Ron Fierstein and Richie Jackson.
