2008 Tony Award Winners!



The 62nd Tony Awards winners were presented this evening (Sunday 15 Jun) at a ceremony hosted at Radio City Music Hall. The ceremony was hosted by Whoopi Goldberg.

South Pacific gained 7 Awards, inluding Best Revival of a musical, and was the most decorated production of the evening. August: Osage County gained 5 awards, including Best Play, followed by 'In Th Heights' with four awards, including 'Best Musical'.

Gypsy received three awards, all in the acting categories: Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical: Patti LuPone; Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical: (Boyd Gaines) and Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical (Laura Benanti).

'Sunday in the Park with George' was the biggest disappointment of the evening, the musical had been nominated for 9 awards, but walked away empty handed.
