Usual Girls extends once more at Roundabout Underground

The world premiere of Ming Pfeiffer's Usual Girls will now play its final performance off-Broadway on December 23, 2018.

Following a previous extension through to December 16, Roundabout Theatre Company has now added a second 1-week extension for its current world premiere of Usual Girls, written by Ming Pfeiffer and directed by Tyne Rafaeli, which began previews at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre's Black Box Theatre on October 11, 2018, and officially opened last night. The limited engagement was initially scheduled to end on December 9, but will now run through to December 23, 2018.

Synopsis: "How do girls grow up? Quickly, painfully, wondrously. On an elementary school playground, a boy threatens to tell on the girls for swearing - unless one of them kisses him. But just before lips can touch, Kyeoung tackles the boy to the ground. The victory is short-lived. Over the coming years, Kyeoung's stories get stranger, funnier, more harrowing - and more familiar. This hilarious, explicit gut-punch of a play bursts with playwright Ming Peiffer's bold, explosive voice."

The cast of Usual Girls includes (in alphabetical order) Sofia Black-D'Elia (as Sasha / Older Girl 2 / KKG Sister), Abby Corrigan (as Anna), Ali Rose Dachis (as Marina/Older Girl #3), Midori Francis (as Kyeoung), Karl Kenzler (as Father), Jennifer Lim (as Woman), Ryann Redmond (as Older Girl/KKG Sister), Nicole Rodenburg (as Lindsay) and Raviv Ullman (as Rory).

The creative team features scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Ásta Hostetter, lighting design by Jen Schriever, and sound design by Tei Blow.

A second world premiere as part of the Roundabout Underground season is the new drama Something Clean, written by Selina Fillinger and directed by Margot Bordelon, which is expected to begin performances at the Black Box Theatre in May 2019.

Usual Girls Tickets are available now for performances through to December 23, 2018.
