Toxic Avenger: Celina Carvajal to join cast
Celina Carvajal will assume the role of 'Sarah,' the sexy, blind librarian from 15 Jun 2009 in the Off-Broadway musical The Toxic Avenger - named the ï¿½Best New Off-Broadway Musicalï¿½ by the Outer Critics Circle.
Carvajal's Broadway credits include 'Tarzan' (Ensemble: 2006), Dracula (Ensemble: 2004), 42nd Street (Annie - replacement: 2002) and Cats (Demeter - replacement: 1998). Off-Broadway shows include starring roles in 'Bed Bugs' at NYMF, 'Green Eyes' at the NYC Fringe Festival and 'Radiant Baby.' When not on the stage, Carvajal performs around New York City with her rock band, ï¿½Cocaine.ï¿½
Carvajal will assume the role from Sara Chase who is leaving the production to create three roles in the musical The First Wives Club premiering at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego.
Carvajal joins original cast members: Nick Cordero, Demond Green, Matthew Saldivar and Nancy Opel (Mayor).
