The Marvelous Wonderettes Lindsay Mendez assumes the role of 'Betty Jean'


Lindsay Mendez joins the cast of The Marvelous Wonderettes on 14 Jun 2009. Mendez replaces the shows' last original cast member Beth Malone who played her final performance on 13 Jun 2009.

Mendez recently appeared Off-Broadway in Second Stage Theatre's production of Dick Scanlan and Sherie Rene Scott's musical 'Every Day Rapture.' On Broadway she played 'Jan' in the recent revival of 'Grease.'

The Marvelous Wonderettes now features Misty Cotton (Missy), Lindsay Mendez (Betty Jean), Kirsten Bracken (Suzy) and Christina DeCicco (Cindy Lou).

The Marvelous Wonderettes, a musical revue written and directed by Roger Bean, choreographed by Janet Miller, opened at Westside Theatre (Upstairs) on 14 Sep 2008, following previews from 29 Aug 2008. The show is currently booking through to 11 Oct 2009.

The Marvelous Wonderettes: A journey back to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where the Wonderettes - Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy - are four young girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. Songs include: 'Lollipop,' 'Dream Lover,' 'Stupid Cupid,' 'Lipstick on Your Collar,' 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,' 'It�s My Party' and 'It�s In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)'

The Marvelous Wonderettes earned an Ovation Award (Best Musical in an Intimate Theatre) and LADCC Awards for best choreography and ensemble in its run at Los Angeles� El Portal Theatre.

The creative team includes Mike Carnahan (sets), Bobby Pearce (costumes), Jeremy Pivnick (lighting) and Cricket S. Myers (sound).
