The Anarchist: Patti Lupone and Laurie Metcalf to star in new Mamet play

Producers Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel will produce the world premiere of The Anarchist, the new play about politics, money, religion and sex, written and directed by David Mamet.

The play, which marks the sixth collaboration between Richards, Frankel and Mamet, will arrive on Broadway in the fall of 2012 at a theatre to be announced.

The Anarchist will star two-time Tony Award winner Patti Lupone and three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf.

Mamet recently directed HBO's 'Phil Spector biopic,' starring Al Pacino and Helen Mirren, which will premiere in 2012. Lupone returns to Broadway this fall in 'An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin', and Metcalf will star in the West End production of Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night, opposite David Suchet, in April 2012.
