The Vineyard Theatre has announced a two-week extension for its current world premiere production of The Amateurs, written by Jordan Harrison and directed by Oliver Butler. The limited engagement began previews at the Vineyard Theatre on February 8, 2018, and officially opened on February 27. The final performance will now be staged on March 29, 2018 (instead of March 18).

Synopsis: "A scrappy troupe of pageant players races across 14th-century Europe, struggling to outrun the Black Death -- and medieval subscribers. The arrival of a mysterious new actor sends Hollis, the leading lady, in search of answers that can only be found off-script... and soon one century's plague begins to look a lot like another, more recent, one. This wildly inventive and funny new work examines the origins of creativity: When does a crisis destroy art, and when does it set it spinning?"

The cast of The Amateurs includes Kyle Beltran, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Michael Cyril Creighton, Greg Keller, Jennifer Kim, and Thomas Jay Ryan.

The creative team features scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Jen Schriever, original music & sound design by Bray Poor, wig, hair, & makeup design by Dave Bova & J. Jared Janas, and mask & puppet design Raphael Mishler.

Vineyard Theatre's 2017-2018 season also includes the world premiere of The Beast in the Jungle - a new musical by Susan Stroman, David Thompson, and John Kander - which begins performances on May 4, 2018.

The Amateurs Tickets are available now for performances through to March 29, 2018.
