Playwrights Realm announces casting for Sojourners

The Playwrights Realm has now announced casting for its upcoming world premiere of Sojourners, written by Mfoniso Udofia, which begins previews at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater on 21 January 2016, before an official opening on 28 January and a limited run through to 13 February 2016.

Directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar, the cast of Sojourners includes Hubert Point-Du Jour (Ukpong), Lakisha Michelle May (Moxie), Chinasa Ogbuagu (Abasiama), and Chinaza Uche (Disciple).

Synopsis: "Abasiama came to America with high hopes - for her arranged marriage and her future - intent on earning a degree and returning to Nigeria. But when her husband is seduced by America she must choose between the Nigerian, or the American dream."

The creative team behind Sojourners features scenic design by Jason Sherwood, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, costume design by Loren Shaw, sound design by Jeremy S. Bloom, puppet design/direction by Stefano Brancato, and props design by Samantha Shoffner.
