Paige Faure & Nancy Opel to join cast of Cinderella



The Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella welcomes two new lead cast members, as Paige Faure and Nancy Opel become Cinderella and Cinderella's Stepmother at the Broadway Theatre.

Paige Faure, who can currently be seen in the new musical 'Bullets Over Broadway' will put on the glass slipper and begin performances as Cinderella from 13 June 2014. She will then go on to lead the cast of the national tour when it begins performances in Providence, RI on 10 October 2014. She takes over the role from Carly Rae Jepsen whose 4-month limited engagement will end on 8 June 2014. Faure's Broadway credits include the original Broadway cast of 'Cinderella', 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying', and 'Bullets Over Broadway'.

She will be joined by Nancy Opel who will begin performances as Cinderella's Stepmother Madame starting 30 June 2014. She will takeover the role from Fran Drescher, whose 5-month limited engagement concludes 29 June 2014. Opel's previous Broadway credits include 'Memphis', 'The Toxic Avenger', 'Fiddler on the Roof', 'Urinetown' (Tony Nomination, Best Actress), 'Sunday in the Park with George', 'Anything Goes', 'Triumph of Love' and 'Evita'.

Both Faure and Opel will star on Broadway through 7 September 2014.

Cinderella is now in it's second year on Broadway, and recently celebrated its 500th performance. A new block of tickets will become available from Monday 26 May, when the show will be booking through 3 January 2015. The original Broadway production opened on 3 March 2013 following previews from 25 January 2013.

The show features music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, a new book by Douglas Carter Beane and original book by Oscar Hammerstein II. The musical is directed by Mark Brokaw. Josh Rhodes is choreographer. Music adaptation, supervision and arrangements are by David Chase. Orchestrations are by Danny Troob. Constantine Kitsopoulos is music director and conductor.
