Due to Tony nominee Peter Gallagher missing a week of performances due to a severe sinus infection, producers of The Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of On The Twentieth Century have decided to delay the opening night, which was previously scheduled to take place on 12 February 2015. The production will now officially open on Sunday, 15 March 2015. Mr. Gallagher returns to performances tonight, 3 March 2015.

On The Twentieth Century began previews at the American Airlines Theatre on 12 February 2015 and is set to play a limited engagement through to 5 July 2015.

On The Twentieth Century is a musical comedy set aboard a luxury coach travelling from Chicago to New York City. Bankrupt theatre producer Oscar Jaffe attempts to cajole the glamorous Hollywood icon Lily Garland into playing the lead in his brand new, and currently non-existent, epic drama. Will the train ride be long enough to re-ignite the passion between the former lovers, write a play from scratch as well as finding the money to get the show to the Great White Way?

The musical features music by CY Coleman and book and lyrics by Betty Comden & Adolph Green and is based on plays by Ben Hecht, Charles MacArthur and Bruce Mullholland.

The cast of On The Twentieth Century includes Kristin Chenoweth (Lily Garland), Peter Gallagher (Oscar Jaffee), Andy Karl (Bruce Granit), Mark Linn-Baker (Oliver Webb), Michael McGrath (Owen O'Malley), and Mary Louise Wilson (Letitia Primrose), with Phillip Attmore, Justin Bowen, Preston Truman Boyd, Paula Leggett Chase, Ben Crawford, Rick Faugno, Jennifer Foote, Bahiyah Hibah, Drew King, Analisa Leaming, Kevin Ligon, Erica Mansfield, James Moye, Linda Mugleston, Mamie Parris, Andy Taylor, Jim Walton and Richard Riaz Yoder.

Roundabout Associate Artistic Director Scott Ellis has collaborated once again with choreographer Warren Carlyle following their successful 2012 production of 'The Mystery of Edwin Drood'.

The production features set design by David Rockwell, costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Donald Holder, and sound design by Jon Weston. Musical direction is by Kevin Stites, with orchestrations by Larry Hochman and additional arrangements by David Krane.

The original Broadway production opened at the St James Theatre in February 1978, directed by Harold Prince, where it ran for 449 performances. It won Tony Awards for Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical.
