Maurice Hines' Tappin' Thru Life at the New World Stages

New swinging song and dance musical Maurice Hines Tappin' Thru Life has been announced to begin performances at New World Stages on 23 December 2015 with an official opening on 11 January 2016, where it is booking to 13 March 2016 .

"Through song and dance, Maurice Hines aided by the unforgettable Manzari brothers and the Diva Orchestra (an all female nine piece big band) pay tribute to Gregory Hines and to the singers who inspired them, from Frank Sinatra to Lena Horne to Sammy Davis Jr. Maurice began working when he was five years old and his brother Gregory was three. He shares funny and heart-breaking experiences about his life and his loving family, both on stage and off."

Directed by two-time Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun, the production will feature design by Tobin Ost, sound design by Michael Hahn and lighting design by Michael Gilliam.

Co-starring in the show alongside Maurice Hines are two of his discoveries, John Manzari and Leo Manzari, a pair of tap dancing siblings reminiscent of a young Maurice and his brother Gregory. The Diva Jazz Orchestra is led by drummer Sherrie Maricle.

Tickets for the production are now on sale.
