Mary-Louise Parker to star in The Sound Inside on Broadway

The Broadway premiere of Adam Rapp's The Sound Inside begins performances at Studio 54 on September 14, 2019.

Tony, Golden Globe & Emmy Award winner Mary-Louise Parker is officially heading back to the Great White Way! She is set to star as Bella in the Broadway premiere of Pulitzer Prize Finalist Adam Rapp's play The Sound Inside, directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer.

Previews are scheduled to begin at Studio 54 on September 14, ahead of an official opening on October 17.

Synopsis: "A Tenured Professor. A Talented Student. A Troubling Favor. The riveting and enthralling new play The Sound Inside is a stunningly suspenseful piece of theatre that proves: everyone has a story—the question is how it ends."

Ms. Parker will star alongside Will Hochman, making his Broadway debut as Christopher, and both are reprising their roles from the summer 2018 world premiere at Williamstown Theatre Festival.

The creative team behind The Sound Inside features scenic design by Alexander Woodward, costume design by David Hyman, lighting design by Heather Gilbert, original music & sound design by Daniel Kluger, and projection design by Aaron Rhyne.

Originally developed and produced by Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Sound Inside is a Lincoln Center Theater commission, who are producing the Broadway premiere alongside Jeffrey Richards and Rebecca Gold.

Mary-Louise Parker won a Tony Award in 2001 for her performance in Proof. She also earned Tony nominations for her Broadway debut in Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 and for Reckless in 2005. Her other Broadway credits include Bus Stop in 1996, Hedda Gabler in 2009, The Snow Geese in 2013, and she was last seen on the Broadway stage in Heisenberg in 2016. On screen, she has won a Golden Globe (and received a further three Golden Globe nominations and three Emmy Award nominations) for her role as Nancy Botwin on the hit Showtime series "Weeds" and won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for her performance as Harper Pitt in the HBO TV adaptation of Angels in America. Her other notable screen credits include an Emmy-nominated performance in "The Robber Bride," her Emmy-nominated TV role as Nancy Botwin in "The West Wing," and starring roles in such films as "The Spiderwick Chronicles," "R.I.P.D.," "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," "Bullets Over Broadway," "Fried Green Tomatoes," "The Client," "RED," and "RED 2."
