Due to popular demand Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension to the New York Premiere of the comic-drama Marjorie Prime written by Jordan Harrison and directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman, which will now play its final performance on 24 January 2016. It had originally been scheduled to conclude its limited engagement on 3 January 2016. However, there will be no performances from 5 to 8 January 2016.

Previews began on 20 November 2015, before an official opening on 14 December.

Synopsis: "It's the age of artificial intelligence, and 86-year-old Marjorie - a jumble of disparate, fading memories - has a handsome new companion who's programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember, and what would we forget, if given the chance? In this new play, Jordan Harrison explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits - if any - of what technology can replace."

The cast of Marjorie Prime includes Noah Bean (Walter), Lisa Emery (Tess), Stephen Root (Jon) and two-time Tony nominee Lois Smith (Marjorie).

The creative team behind Marjorie Prime features scenic design by Laura Jellinek, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Tony nominee Ben Stanton and sound design by Daniel Kluger.

Marjorie Prime's world premiere was produced by Center Theatre Group at The Mark Taper Forum (Los Angeles, CA) in September 2014.
