Love, Loss, and What I Wore: Haylie Duff & Ashley A. Morris join cast

Stage and film star Haylie Duff (Napoleon Dynamite; Hairspray) and Off-Broadway vet Ashley Austin Morris (Die Mommie Die) will appear in the July cast of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's Love, Loss, And What I Wore.

Haylie Duff first came to attention as 'Summer' in the film 'Napoleon Dynamite,' earning her a Teen Choice Award. Duff joined TV show "7th Heaven," following with the role of 'Amber' in the Broadway show 'Hairspray.' She co-produced and starred in "Material Girls" and later hosted and produced the reality show "Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods." Her newest film "Tug" was just released, and "Slightly Single in LA" is pending release.

Ashley Austin Morris made her Off-Broadway debut as Edith in Charles Busch's 'Die Mommie Die.' Other Off-Broadway credits include: 'In the Daylight,' 'Paper Dolls,' and 'Bees.' Film: "Be Good," "Daniel." TV credits include "Ugly Betty," "Gravity," "The New Electric Company" and the pilot "Who You Know."

They join previously announced stars Penny Fuller (who is part of the current cast), Sharon Lawrence ("NYPD Blue") and Myra Lucretia Taylor (Broadway's Nine). The five women begin their run on 30 Jun 2010 and continue through to 25 Jul 2010.

The show's current cast, featuring Penny Fuller (Dividing the Estate), Rachael Harris (The Hangover), Diane Neal ("Law & Order: SVU"), Cobie Smulders ("How I Met Your Mother") and Sherri Shepherd ("The View"), began performances 26 May 2010 and continues through 27 Jun 2010).

The comedy, an intimate collection of stories by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, and directed by Karen Carpenter, opened at the Westside Theatre on 1 Oct 2009, following previews from 21 Sep, for what was initially scheduled to be a twelve week engagement that was originally scheduled to close on 13 Dec 2009, but is now booking through to 29 Aug 2010.

Love, Loss, And What I Wore is a collection of vignettes and monologues based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman, as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons' friends. "'The Vagina Monologues' without the vaginas," is how the Ephrons describe this theatrical event.

The show opened to mostly good reviews: A kin to a warm estrogen bath (NY Times); By turns funny, poignant, and occasionally rueful (AP); A bittersweet meditation on the joys and tribulations of women's lives (Variety).

The original cast featured Samantha Bee, Tyne Daly, Katie Finneran, Natasha Lyonne and Rosie O'Donnell.

The show, which will have a rotating cast troughout its run, has cast Adriane Lenox, Kate Mulgrew and Kristine Nielsento star in its Aug cast, with two more actresses to be announced. And Sandy Duncan, Stacy London, with three actresses to be announced for its Sep cast.

The creative team features sets by Jo Winiarski, costumes by Jessica Jahn, lighting by Jeff Croiter and sound by Walter Trarbach.

A portion of the production's proceeds will benefit Dress for Success, a charity that provides work clothing and job support for low-income women. Audience members will be invited to donate their gently-used purses and other accessories in the theatre lobby.
