London's A View From The Bridge transfers to Broadway

Producers Scott Rudin and the Lincoln Center Theater have announced that the sell out Olivier Award-winning revival of Arthur Miller's drama A View From The Bridge will transfer to Broadway, opening at the Lyceum Theatre on 12 November 2015, following previews from 21 October for a limited 18-week run to 21 February 2016.

The production, which swept the 2015 Olivier Awards where it won Best Revival, Best Director, and Best Actor (Mark Strong), began at the Young Vic in south London, before transferring to the Wyndham's Theatre in the West End.

Directed by Ivo van Hove, the cast for the production will include
Mark Strong (Eddie Carbone), Nicola Walker (Beatrice), Phoebe Fox (Catherine), Emun Elliott (Marco), and Michael Gould (Alfieri).

The production has scenic and lighting design by Jan Versweyveld and costume design by An D'Huys. Additional casting and design team will be announced at a later date.

Arthur Miller's classic drama is set in Brooklyn, where longshoreman Eddie Carbone welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom. But when one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie's jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret - one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal.

The London production of A View From The Bridge received unanimous raves from the London critics: "a visceral, vital reinterpretation of a classic play...a forceful production of visual brilliance" (Guardian); "a superb, searing production. The actors are all magnificent" (Financial Times); "unforgettable," (The Independent) and "astonishingly bold and magnificent" (Evening Standard).

Acclaimed Belgian director Ivo van Hove will make his Broadway debut with this production. His New York credits include Susan Sontag's 'Alice in Bed', 'More Stanley Mansions' (Obie Award), 'A Streetcar Named Desire', 'Hedda Gabler' (Obie Award), 'The Misanthrope', 'The Little Foxes', and this season's 'Scenes from A Marriage' at the New York Theatre Workshop; 'Roman Tragedies', 'Cries and Whispers', 'Opening Night', and 'Angels in America' at BAM.
