Lois Robbins to star in off-Broadway premiere of L.O.V.E.R. at Pershing Square Signature Center
Karen Carpenter directs the comedy play which begins performances at Pershing Square Signature Center on August 21, 2019.
Kaleidoscope Creative Partners presents the Off-Broadway premiere of L.O.V.E.R., which begins previews on August 21, 2019 at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre within Pershing Square Signature Center, before an official opening on September 8 and a limited engagement through November 2, 2019. The production is written and performed by Lois Robbins, with direction by Karen Carpenter.
Synopsis: “Everyone remembers their first kiss…and second…and maybe their fifth? This bold new comedy reveals the truths about life, love, and…sex. L.O.V.E.R. portrays one woman’s confessions of what goes on behind closed doors – and between the sheets. L.O.V.E.R. is the new play for anyone who’s found love or is still searching.”
The creative team behind L.O.V.E.R features scenic design by Jo Winiarski, lighting design by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew and sound design by Jane Shaw.
Robbins’, theatre credits include the 2018 world premiere of L.O.V.E.R. at the Zephyr Theatre in California, as well as Cactus Flower, A Time for Love and My History of Marriage. Karen Carpenter's previous off-Broadway directorial credits including Love Loss and What I Wore, Bulldozer: the Ballad of Robert Moses and regional productions of The Wizard of Oz and The Vagina Monologues.
