Second Stage Theater has announced a new production as part of its current 2019-2020 Off-Broadway season. It will present Young Jean Lee's We're Gonna Die this winter, beginning previews at the Tony Kiser Theater on February 4, 2020, ahead of an official opening on February 25 and a limited engagement through March 22, 2020.

The show will be directed and choroegraphed by Raja Feather Kelly and will be performed by Janelle McDermoth, who made her Broadway debut in A Bronx Tale and has also appeared off-Broadway in Soul Doctor and in an international touring production of Hair.

Synopsis: "We're Gonna Die is a non-musical/non-play/non-concert that is not about dying. It's a celebration of the things we do, say, and sing to keep ourselves going as we hurtle toward the finish line. Through a series of stories and songs both hilarious and heartbreaking, We're Gonna Die offers proof positive that being alive is about more than just awaiting the inevitable."

We're Gonna Die features original music by Young Jean Lee & Tim Simmonds, additional music by John-Michael Lyles, lyrics by Young Jean Lee, music supervision & arrangements by Remy Kurs, and orchestrations by Cian McCarthy.
