Two-time Tony Award nominee Gavin Lee is set to steal the show (and Christmas, to boot!) after being cast in the title role of the upcoming holiday spectacle Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. Performances will run at the vast Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden from December 13 to 30, 2018.

Mr. Lee released the following statement: "I am thrilled to step in to the furry, stinky green shoes of the world's most beloved Christmas bad boy this holiday season. As a dad myself, I know first-hand the magic of introducing kids to live theater and I look forward to hearts growing three sizes as they experience this beloved story in a whole new way...live on stage!"

He recently completed a celebrated, Tony-nominated turn as Squidward Tentacles in the Broadway premiere of SpongeBob SquarePants and first burst onto the Broadway scene, reprising his Olivier Award-nominated role as Bert in Mary Poppins on the Great White Way and earning his first Tony Award nomination in 2007 in the process. He has also starred as Thénardier in the most recent Broadway revival of Les Misérables and he appears as Alan Woodford on the USA Network series "White Collar."

Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical features music by Mel Marvin, with a book & lyrics by Timothy Mason.

Synopsis: "Both adults and children alike will find their hearts growing a few sizes (along with the Grinch's heart, of course) when they witness the magic of the holiday tale on stage. Max the Dog serves as the story's narrator as the scheming Grinch plans to steal Christmas away from The Whos, the loveable characters that understand and embrace the true meaning of the holidays. When the Grinch realizes that he can't steal Christmas from Who-ville by taking presents, he returns the gifts and decorations and joins the festivities, proving that all it takes is a little kindness and holiday spirit to make any Grinch not so mean after all."

The 2018 production is directed by Matt August and features choreography by Bob Richard (based on the original choreography by John DeLuca). The creative team also features scenic design by John Lee Beatty and costume design by Robert Morgan, inspired by the original Dr. Seuss book.

Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical is produced by Running Subway Productions and Big League Productions.

Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! Tickets are available now for performances from December 13 through to December 30, 2018.
