Daveed Diggs, Michael Shannon & more to star in Viral Monologues
The 24 Hour Plays returns with a second edition of Viral Monologues tonight.
Following the success of The 24 Hour Plays' initial launch of Viral Monologues last Tuesday, a brand new series of videos will be released tonight. 24 new and original monologues will be released on IGTV @24hourplays and at https://24hourplays.com/viral-monologues/ from 6pm until midnight (one released every fifteen minutes).
Following suit from last week's first edition, the 24 participating actors shared "brief orientation-style" videos with their writing counterparts at 6pm last night, giving the writers a chance to get to know them a little better. The writers were then tasked to complete a monologue for their assigned actor by 9am this morning. These are being filmed throughout the day and will be released from 6pm tonight, thus completing the 24-hour cycle.
The list of actors taking part in this week's Viral Monologues includes (in alphabetical order) Kelly Aucoin, Dylan Baker, Becky Ann Baker, Anna Baryshnikov, Nicholas Braun, Marylouise Burke, Juliana Canfield, Ty Defoe, Daveed Diggs, Ashley Fink, Noah Galvin, Clark Gregg, Damon Gupton, Ryan Haddad, Josh Hamilton, William Jackson Harper, Daniel K. Isaac, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, muMs, Coral Peña, Danny Pudi, Michael Shannon, Jessica St. Clair and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.
They will all be performing original monologues from this talented list of writers: Will Arbery, Clare Barron, Eric Bogosian, Bekah Brunstetter, Joseph Dougherty, Kristoffer Diaz, Sarah Gancher, Gracie Gardner, Stephen Adly Guirgis, J. Holtham, Lily Houghton, Elizabeth Irwin, Sofya Levitsky-Weitz, Aaron Wigdor Levy, David Lindsay-Abaire, Tim J. Lord, Gabe McKinley, Dan O’Brien, Anya Richkind, Jonathan Marc Sherman, Charly Evon Simpson, Alena Smith and Tracey Scott Wilson.
So, may we encourage you to tune in to support this great initiative from 6pm tonight and keep safe and healthy.
