Dates confirmed for 63rd Annual Drama Desk Awards

The Drama Desk Awards will return to The Town Hall in New York City on Sunday, June 3, 2018.

Gretchen Shugart (Managing Executive Producer of the Drama Desk Awards) and Charles Wright (Drama Desk President) have announced that the 63rd Annual Drama Desk Awards will take place on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 8pm at The Town Hall. Nominations for these awards will be revealed on Thursday, April 26.

"The Awards show celebrates the variety, creativity, and sheer talent that New York City theater offers," commented Ms. Shugart. "All of the exciting new productions opening in New York this year will certainly contribute to a great show at Town Hall."

The ceremony itself will be written by Bill Rosenfield, directed by Mark Waldrop, and produced by Joey Parnes Production.

The Drama Desk nominating committee is composed of David Barbour (Chairperson), Linda Buchwald, Peter Filichi, Helen Shaw, Martha Wade Stekete, Zachary Stewart, Doug Strassler, and Charles Wright.

Drama Desk was founded in 1949 to explore key issues in the theater and to bring together critics and writers in an organization to support the ongoing development of theater in New York. The organization began presenting its awards in 1955, and it is the only critics' organization to honor achievement in the theater with competition among Broadway, Off Broadway and Off-Off Broadway productions in the same categories.
