A View From The Bridge begins performances tonight

The West End transfer of the Olivier Award-winning revival of Arthur Miller's drama A View From The Bridge begins previews tonight at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre. The production will officially open on 12 November 2015 and play a limited 18-week run through to 21 February 2016.

Synopsis: "Arthur Miller's classic drama is set in Brooklyn, where longshoreman Eddie Carbone welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom. But when one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie's jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret - one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal."

Directed by Ivo van Hove, the cast for the production includes
Mark Strong (Eddie Carbone), Nicola Walker (Beatrice), Phoebe Fox (Catherine), Russell Tovey (Rodolpho), Emun Elliott (Marco), Michael Gould (Alfieri) and Richard Hansell (Louis).

A View From The Bridge features scenic and lighting design by Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D'Huys and sound design by Tom Gibbons. It is produced on Broadway by Scott Rudin and Lincoln Center Theater.

The London production of A View From The Bridge received unanimous raves from the London critics: "a visceral, vital reinterpretation of a classic play...a forceful production of visual brilliance" (Guardian); "a superb, searing production. The actors are all magnificent" (Financial Times); "unforgettable," (The Independent) and "astonishingly bold and magnificent" (Evening Standard).

The production, which swept the 2015 Olivier Awards where it won Best Revival, Best Director, and Best Actor (Mark Strong), began at the Young Vic in south London, before transferring to the Wyndham's Theatre in the West End.
