'A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical' sets Broadway cast

Good casting never seemed so good! The Broadway premiere of A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical has set its Broadway cast, much of whom starred in the show's pre-Broadway run in Boston. Performances begin November 2 at the Broadhurst Theatre ahead of a December 4 opening.

Tony Award nominees Will Swenson and Mark Jacoby will star as Neil Diamond Then and Now, respectively. The cast also features Tony nominee Robyn Hurder as Marcia, Linda Powell as Doctor, Jessie Fisher as Jaye Posner, Michael McCormick as Paul Colby and Tommy O'Rourke, Tom Alan Robbins as Bert Berns and Kieve Diamond, and Bri Sudia as Ellie Greenwich and Rose Diamond. All are reprising their Boston roles.

American Idol winner Nick Fradiani will serve as the alternate Neil Diamond - Then, playing Swenson's role on Wednesday evenings.

The A Beautiful Noise cast also includes ensemble members Kalonjee Gallimore, Alex Hairston, Jess LeProtto, Tatiana Lofton, Aaron James McKenzie, Mary Page Nance, Max Sangerman, and MiMi Scardulla. Neal Benari is the standby for Neil Diamond - Now, and Ninako Donville, Samantha Gershman, Makai Hernandez, and Robert Pendilla are swings.

Tony Award winner Michael Mayer directs the musical. The creative team also includes Tony-winning set designer David Rockwell, Tony-nominated costume designer Emilio Sosa, Tony-winning lighting designer Kevin Adams, Tony-winning sound designer Jessica Paz, hair and wig designer Luc Verschueren, music supervisor and arranger Sonny Paladino, and vocal designer AnnMarie Milazzo. Incidental music and dance music arrangements are by Brian Usifer, and orchestrations are by Bob Gaudio, Paladino, and Usifer.

A Beautiful Noise brings the life and career of globally bestselling artist Neil Diamond to the Broadway stage. Two actors play Diamond at key stages of his life: one as a young man from Brooklyn trying to break into music in the 1960s, and one at his current older age, after his big break in the 1970s led to a decades-long career that earned Diamond two Hall of Fame inductions, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and millions of fans.
