Armie Hammer

Armie Hammer is set to star in The Minutes at the Cort Theatre on Broadway from February 25 through June 14, 2020.

Armand Douglas "Armie" Hammer is a Golden Globe-nominated actor who was born on August 28, 1986 in Santa Monica, California. He is best known for his prolific screen career, including roles in "The Social Network," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," "The Lone Ranger," and "Call Me By Your Name".

During his youth, Mr. Hammer spent time in Dallas, Texas, and the Cayman Islands, before relocating back to Los Angeles. He attended Faulkner's Academy and Grace Christian Academy in the Caymans and later attended Los Angeles Baptist High School in the San Fernando Valley, but decided to drop out of school during eleventh grade to pursue a career in acting.

After a handful of small parts in shows such as "Veronica Mars" and "Desperate Housewives" in 2006 and 2007, Mr. Hammer's breakthrough came after securing the role of Billy Graham in 2008's "Billy: The Early Years". In 2009, he went on to appear as Gabriel Edwards in 4 episodes of "Gossip Girl" and as Morgan in 5 episodes of "Reaper". His performance as twins Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss in hit film "The Social Network" propelled his career to new heights in 2010 and he would also later voice the twins in a 2012 episode of "The Simpsons" entitled "The D'oh-cial Network". In 2012, he earned a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for his performance as Clyde Tolson in "J. Edgar" and starred as Prince Alcott in "Mirror Mirror" opposite Julia Roberts. His net starring role came as the title role (aka John Reid) in Disney's "The Lone Ranger" alongside Johnny Depp in 2013.

Other recent Hollywood films in Mr. Hammer's résumé include "Entourage" and the role of Illya Kuryakin in "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." in 2015, "Nocturnal Animals" and "Mine" in 2016, "Final Portrait" and voicing the role of Jackson Storm in Disney-Pixar's "Cars 3" in 2017, "Sorry to Bother You," "Hotel Mumbai," and "On the Basis of Sex" in 2018, and "Wounds" in 2019. Arguably his most critically acclaimed performance to date was his role as Oliver in the 2017 film "Call Me By Your Name," earning him a nominations for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture' at the 2018 Golden Globes.

The Second Stage Theater production of Young Jean Lee's Straight White Men at the Hayes Theater from June 29 through to September 9, 2018, marked Mr. Hammer's Broadway debut. He returns to the Great White Way for the Broadway premiere of Tracy Letts' The Minutes at the Cort Theatre from February 25 through June 14, 2020.

A town's proud history, the legend of a local hero, the coveted privilege of reserved parking: nothing is sacred during the town council meeting at the heart of Tracy Letts' new play. This razor-sharp comedy turns from hilarious to chilling as petty policy matters give way to the truth boiling just beneath the surface of the town's historical mythology.
