The Players Theatre was built in 1907 as a carriage house that served police horses. The building was converted into a theatre in the late 1950s. The venue has multiple spaces for performances and more, including the 200-seat mainstage, the 50-seat Steve and Marie Sgouros Theatre, four rehearsal studios, and office space. Cafe Wha?, a historic music club, is located underneath the theatre.

Britney Spears and Natalie Portman appeared in Ruthless at the venue in 1992. Nowadays, the Players Theatre showcases a variety of new Off-Broadway shows and comedy acts.
