Woden at Theater For The New City's Cino Theater
Crystal Field and Theater for the New City presents Woden, written and directed by Gene Ruffini, at Theater For The New City's Cino Theater from 14 - 30 Dec 2006.
Woden: Victor, a midlevel executive, like so many before him, bought into the corporate dream of 'work hard, do your job and we'll take care of you.' But in the wake of a corporate scandal after 25 years at the same company, he suddenly finds himself without a position, without a pension and, despite his hopeful outlook, very few prospects. Adding insult to injury is the fact that Don, his good friend (and immediate superior) gave him no clue regarding what was about to happen.
As Victor and his wife struggle to maintain solvency, they find hostility from several unexpected quarters including their children, whose own plans for happiness depended on the money their father made. Eventually it becomes apparent that no one is completely blameless as each of these people have too well learned the various corporate rules which have so colored this nation's morality.
Woden features Robert Armstrong, Elizabeth Burke, William Greville, Deborah Johnstone, Bryan Luethy, Carol Ann Palmaro, Dorian Shorts and Jessica Tate.
Set Design and lighting by Jason Sturm.
