Wendy Beckett's A Better Place at Duke on 42nd Street

The Directors Company, in association with Pascal Productions, presents the world premiere of Wendy Beckett's new comedy A Better Place, directed by Evan Bergman, which begins previews at The Duke on 42nd Street on 4 May 2016, before an official opening on 15 May and a limited engagement through to 12 June 2016.

Synopsis: "A Better Place is a new play about Manhattanites' lust for real estate. A male couple is transfixed by their neighbors; they can't tear themselves away from the window. The lifestyle over there is sumptuous, and they have a quirky daughter whose tastes run to exhibitionism. Speculation begins...where did they get all that wealth? And what about the kooky brokers who regularly visit them? Who are these funny people in the glorious glass box? We all want what they have! Could it be they have attained - A Better Place?"

The cast of A Better Place (in alphabetical order) includes Jessica DiGiovanni (Carol), John FitzGibbon (Sel), Judith Hawking (Mary), Edward James Hyland (John), Rob Maitner (Les) and Michael Satow (Broker/Concierge).

The creative team behind A Better Place features scenic design by David Arsenault, lighting design by Russell H. Champa, costume design by Valerie Marcus Ramshur, and sound design by Sam Kunetz.
