Weapons of Self-Destruction: postponed due to Robin Williams needing heart surgery

Robin Williams is postponing the remainder of his critically acclaimed one-man show, 'Weapons of Self-Destruction,' to undergo surgery for an aortic valve replacement. The tour is expected to resume in the fall.

Previously purchased tickets will be honored once the new dates are scheduled or ticketholders can contact their place of purchase for refunds.

Im so touched by everyones support and well wishes, said Williams. This tour has been amazing fun and I cant wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up.

Williams has been on the sold-out 80-city 'Weapons of Self-Destruction' comedy tour since September 2008.

It is not known when the show, which was scheduled to play at Broadway's Neil Simon Theatre from 28 Apr - 3 May 2009, will finally play Broadway. New dates are to be announced, though the national tour of 'Weapons of Self-Destruction' is expected to resume in the fall.

Due to demand, Robin Williams solo show, 'Weapons of Self-Destruction', currently touring the country, adds three extra performances (23, 24 & 25 April) to its limited engagement at Broadway's Neil Simon Theatre from 28 Apr - 3 May 2009.

In 'Weapons of Self-Destruction' Robin Williams tells us what he thinks of eight years of George W Bush, and of more personal matters: divorce, addiction, and rehab, as only William's can, using his trademark free associations and riffs on social and political absurdities.
