We Live Here: full cast announced
Manhattan Theatre Club have announced the full cast for the world premiere of Zoe Kazan's We Live Here, directed by Sam Gold, opening at NY City Center Stage I on 12 Oct 2011, following previews from 22 Sep 2011, and playing through to 30 Oct 2011.
Joining the previously announced Betty Gilpin, Oscar Isaac and Jeremy Shamos, are Mark Blum, Jessica Collins and Amy Irving.
In We Live Here Allie Bateman's wedding is Sunday. When Dinah (Betty Gilpin), her precocious younger sister, returns to their parents' home for the festivities, she brings more than anyone expected: a new boyfriend, whose hidden history resurrects passions and painful memories for the whole family. Over one emotionally charged weekend, The Batemans must acknowledge and accept loss to gain hope for regeneration.
The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (Sets), David Zinn (Costumes), Ben Stanton (Lighting) and Ryan Rumery We Live Here is the recipient of a 2011 Edgerton New American Play Award.
Bios:
Zoe Kazan (Playwright) credits include Absalom (Humana Festival '09) and a play commissioned by MTC entitled We Live Here. B.A. Yale University. AS an actress she has appeared on Broadway in 'A Behanding In Spokane,' 'Come Back, Little Sheba' and 'The Seagull.' Off-Broadway: 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,' 'Things We Want' and '100 Saints You Should Know' (Lucille Lortel nomination). She has written the screenplay for "He Loves Me," currently in filming.
Sam Gold (Director) most recently directed Ibsen's 'A Doll's House' at Williamstown Theatre Festival and Tracy Letts' 'August: Osage County' at The Old Globe. Recent credits include the world premiere of 'Kin' by Bathsheba Doran at Playwrights Horizons, 'The Coward' by Nick Jones at Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3, 'Tigers be Still' by Kim Rosenstock at Roundabout Theatre Company, Stephen Belber's 'Dusk Rings a Bell' (Atlantic Theater Company), and Annie Baker's 'The Aliens' (Rattlestick) and 'Circle Mirror Transformation' (Playwrights Horizons, Obie Award). He is soon to make his Broadway directional debut with the upcoming production of Theresa Rebeck's 'Seminar.'

Jessica Collins (Allie) most recently starred in the 2010 AMC series "Rubicon." Previously, she starred on the ABC series "The Nine" alongside Scott Wolf and Kim Raver. Other television credits include "Blue Bloods," "Law & Order: Los Angeles," "The Good Wife," "CSI," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "Ghost Whisperer." Collins made her feature debut in the 2009 film "Loss of a Teardrop Diamond" opposite Bryce Dallas Howard and Ellen Burstyn. Collins made her Broadway debut in the 2007 production of 'Pygmalion' and also starred in the world premiere of Manic Flight 'Reaction' at Playwrights Horizons.
Betty Gilpin (Dinah) made her Off-Broadway debut in 2008 in the Second Stage's production of 'Good Boys and True.' Most recently, Betty co-starred in the world premier of Lucas Kavner's 'Fish Eye' at Here in New York. She also recently appeared in the Roundabout Theatre Company's production of 'The Language Archive,' Manhattan Theatre Club's production of 'That Face' and at the Second Stage in Howard Korder's 'Boys Life.' She co-starred with Wendie Malick in Noah Haidle's two character play, 'What is the Cause of Thunder? 'at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Television and film appearances include "The Good Wife," "Past Life," "The Unusuals," Possible Side Effects, "Fringe," New Amsterdam, "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Medium" and "Death in Love," "The Northern Kingdom" and the DreamWorks feature "Ghost Town" with Ricky Gervais.
Amy Irving (Maggie) was first noticed in the 1970s when she starred in director Brian De Palma's early films "Carrie" and "The Fury." She received an Oscar nomination for her role in "Yentl" and a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in "Crossing Delancey." Her Broadway credits include Tom Stoppard's 'The Coast of Utopia' at Lincoln Center, 'The Three Sisters' at the Roundabout Theatre, Arthur Miller's 'Broken Glass,' 'Amadeus' and 'Heartbreak House.' Off-Broadway, she won an Obie Award for Best Actress in Athol Fugard's 'Road to Mecca' and starred in Daniel Fish's production of Ibsen's 'Ghosts' at the Classic Stage Company.
Oscar Isaac (Daniel) upcoming films include "Drive," "Refn, W.E," "Ten Year," "Still I Rise," "Revenge for Jolly!" and "The Bourne Legacy". In 2009, Isaac won the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in "Balibo" playing Nobel Peace Prize winner, "Jose Ramos Horta." His stage credits include the title role in 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'Two Gentlemen of Verona' both for The Public Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park, 'Beauty of the Father' by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz at Manhattan Theatre Club and 'Grace' with Lynn Redgrave at the MCC Theater.
Jeremy Shamos (Sandy). Broadway credits include: 'Elling,' 'Reckless' and 'The Rivals.' Off-Broadway credits include: 'Clybourne Park' (Lucille Lortel Award nomination), 'Animals Out of Paper,' 'Engaged' (Obie Award), 'The New York Idea' (Atlantic Theater), '100 Saints You Should Know,' 'Miss Witherspoon' (Playwrights Horizons), 'Gutenberg!
