Tony Nominations to be announced on 1 May 2012



The Tony Award Nominations will be announced on the 1 May 2012 by Emmy and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth and two-time Emmy Award winner Jim Parsons at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

Kristin Chenoweth won the 1999 Tony Award for Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as 'Sally' in the musical 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.' She was nominated for a 2004 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for originating the role of 'Glinda' in 'Wicked.' Chenoweth last appeared on Broadway in 2012 when she starred as 'Fran Kubelik' in 'Promises, Promises.' She won an Emmy in 2007 for her role as 'Olive Snook" in "Pushing Daisies."

Jim Parsons has won two Emmy Awards (2010 & 2011) for his role as "Sheldon Cooper" in the TV comedy "The Big Bang Theory." He made his Broadway debut in the Spring of 2011 starring as young gay activist 'Tommy Boatwright' in the Tony Award winning production of Larry Kramer's 'The Normal Heart.'

The 2012 Tony Award ceremony will be held at the Beacon Theatre, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris , on the 10 Jun 2012 and will be broadcast live on CBS-TV.
