Three Sisters: Anson Mount joins cast
Anson Mount has joined the cast of the Classic Stage Company's upcoming production of Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters, replacing Glenn Fitzgerald (Lobby Hero, "Dirty Sexy Money") in the role of 'Solyony.'
Mount's Off-Broadway credits include 'Mourning Becomes Electra' (New Group), 'Corpus Christi' (MTC) and 'Cymbeline' (Public).
Mount joins a cast that stars Maggie Gyllenhaal (Masha), Marin Ireland (Natasha) and Juliet Rylance (Irina) as the three, along with Josh Hamilton (Andrey), 2010 Tony Award nominee Jessica Hecht (Olga) and film and stage actor Peter Sarsgaard (Vershinin).
Also featured in the cast are Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Tuezenbach), Glenn Fitzgerald (Solyony), Roberta Maxwell (Anfisa), Louis Zorich (Chebutykin), George Morfogen (Ferapont), Paul Lazar (Kulygin), Gabe Bettio (Rohde) and James Patrick Nelson (Fedotik).
Three Sisters will be directed by Austin Pendleton, who also directed Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard in CSC's acclaimed 2009 production of Chekhov's 'Uncle Vanya.'
Three Sisters opens at the Classic Stage Company on 3 Feb 2011, following previews from 12 Jan, and run through to 20 Feb 2011.
The creative team for Three Sisters will include set design by Walt Spangler, costume design by Marco Piemontese, lighting design by Keith Parham, sound design and original music by Christian Frederickson and Ryan Rumery and hair design by Paul Huntley.
Three Sisters, Chekhov's immortal masterpiece of thwarted dreams, continues CSC's commitment to its Chekhov Initiative, which began five years ago during their First Look Festival reading series.
This continued with their first main production of 'The Seagull,' starring Dianne Wiest and Alan Cumming, followed by their acclaimed production in 2009 of 'Uncle Vanya,' which featured many of the cast members who will be appearing in Three Sisters.
