Playwrights Horizons has announced a 1-week extension for its current world premiere production of The Thanksgiving Play, written by Larissa FastHorse and directed by Tony Award nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel, which began previews at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater on October 12 and officially opened on November 5, 2018 (read our 4* review). Originally scheduled to conclude its limited engagement on November 25, the production will now run off-Broadway through to December 2, 2018.

Synopsis: "Ah, Thanksgiving, that most American of holidays: when families gather to celebrate the warmth of home, the bounty of the harvest - and a legacy of genocide and violent colonial expansion. Good intentions collide with absurd assumptions in Larissa FastHorse's wickedly funny satire, as a troupe of terminally "woke" teaching artists scrambles to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Month."

The cast of The Thanksgiving Play includes Jennifer Bareilles (as Logan), Jeffrey Bean (as Caden), Greg Keller (as Jaxton), and Margo Seibert (as Alicia).

The creative team features scenic design by Wilson Chin, costume and puppet design by Tilly Grimes, lighting design by Isabella Byrd, and sound design by Mikaal Sulaiman.
