The President and her Mistress at the Abingdon's June Havoc Theatre
Abingdon Theatre Company presents The President and her Mistress, a comedy by Jan Buttram, opening at the June Havoc Theatre on 25 Apr 2007, following previews from 13 Apr and running through to 13 May 2007.
The President and her Mistress: In 2156 A.D., women rule. Beck Shine is President of the United World. Insurgent men have taken 10,042 women hostage in Australia and, for the first time since the Femme Revolution, women are in danger; Candy Power (an evangelistic talk-show host) challenges Beck's political savvy; Beck's mother convinces her that 'nano-probe technology' will give her renewed youth and the energy to save her presidency; and Beck's husband and her mistress vie for her allegiance.
Directed by Rob Urbinati, The President and her Mistress features Jeremy Beck, Constance Boardman, Jan Buttram, Lori Gardner, Susanna Guzmain, Sherry Skinker and Danton Stone.
Set design by James F. Wolk, with costumes by Polly J. Byers, lighting by Matthew McCarthy and sound by Graham Johnson.
