Producers of The Play That Goes Wrong have announced that the production is to transfer off-Broadway from the Lyceum Theatre to New World Stages next year.

The Play That Goes Wrong will play its final Broadway performance on January 6, 2019, after a total of 745 performances. The production will then continue at New World Stages with previews from February 11 and an official re-opening on February 20, 2019.

The off-Broadway cast and creative team will be announced at a later date. The Broadway production of The Play That Goes Wrong currently stars Jason Bowen (Trevor), Preston Truman Boyd (Robert), Toccarra Cash (Annie), Mara Davi (Sandra), Mark Evans (Chris), Alex Mandell (Max), Ned Noyes (Jonathan) and Harrison Unger (Dennis), with Adam Daveline, Ashley Reyes, Katie Sexton, and Quinn Van Antwerp.

Upon closing, The Play That Goes Wrong will hold the record as the second longest-running show in the history of the Lyceum Theatre. It also won the Tony Award for "Best Scenic Design of a Play" in 2017.

Synopsis: "The Play That Goes Wrong is a riotous comedy about the theatre. The play introduces "The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society" who are attempting to put on a 1920s' murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong...does, as the accident prone thespians battle on against all the odds to get to their final curtain call."

The off-Broadway production of The Play That Goes Wrong will be directed by Matt DiCarlo, based on Broadway direction by Mark Bell.

The Play That Goes Wrong will play its final performance at the Lyceum Theatre on January 6, 2019, before previews commence at New World Stages on February 11, 2019.
