The Night Watcher at 59E59's Theater A
Primary Stages continues its 25th anniversary season of new works celebrating the female playwright with the New York premiere of The Night Watcher, written and performed by Charlayne Woodard.
A solo play, The Night Watcher is directed by Tony Award-winner Daniel Sullivan (proof), and opens at 59E59's Theater A on 6 Oct 2009, following previews from 22 Sep and runs through to 31 Oct 2009.
The Night Watcher: Simultaneously a best friend, advisor, confidant and sage to the many young people who call her 'Auntie,' Charlayne Woodard is childless only by biological standards. Told with penetrating grace and candor, Woodard beautifully weaves together stories of the ordinary and extraordinary ways shes mentored the children in her life. An intimate look at the alternative definition of being a parent.
The creative team includes Tom Lynch & Charlie Corcoran (Set), Jess Goldstein (Costumes), Geoff Korf (Lights) and Obadiah Eaves (Sound).
