The four original Jersey Boys renew their contracts
All four original actors of the Broadway musical Jersey Boys, J. Robert Spencer (Nick Massi), Daniel Reichard (Bob Gaudio), John Lloyd Young Frankie Valli), and Christian Hoff (Tommy DeVito), have renewed their contract and will remian with the show.
Their original contracts expired on the 1 Oct 2006, but all four actors have renewed, though no details as to the length of the new contracts are available.
John Lloyd Young who won a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Frankie Valli, left the show for two week vacation on 2 Oct 2006. He returns to Jersey Boys on 16 Oct 2006.
Jersey Boys opened at the August Wilson Theatre on the 6 Nov, following previews from the 4 Oct and is currently booking to the 11 Nov 2007. The show won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical
The musical opened to excellent notices. New York Daily News critic, Howard Kissel, wrote "There's no point in beating around the bush � I had a great time. "Star-ledger wrote "A hot new Broadway show." newyorktheatreguide.com's reviewer, Polly Wittenberg, wrote it will "become the smash hit it deserves to be."
