The Drunken City: Off on the bar crawl to end all crawls, three twenty-something brides-to-be find their lives going topsy-turvy when one of them begins to question her future after a chance encounter with a recently jilted handsome stranger.
Playwright Adam Bock is making his Playwrights Horizons debut with The Drunken City after a string of successful Off-Broadway plays: the Obie Award-winning 'The Thugs', 'Swimming in the Shallows' and the recent hit 'The Receptionist.'
For this new play, he presented himself with a challenge: Theres a dramatic truism that when a character in a play is drunk, he or she will be the truth-teller, so I thought, Hey, why not write a play where everyone is drunk that way truthll be flying everywhich everywhere.
