The Caucasian Chalk Circle: full cast announced

Classic Stage Company have announed that Elizabeth A. Davis (Grusha) and Mary Testa (Governor's Wife) will join the previously announced Christopher Lloyd (Azdak) in their revival of Bertolt Brecht,'s The Caucasian Chalk Circle, translated by James and Tania Stern, opening at the CSC from 30 May 2013, following previews from 03 May, and closing on 09 Jun 2013.

The cast will also feature Jason Babinsky (Yusek), Alex Hurt (Simon), Tom Riis Farrell (The Corporal/Shuva/Fat Prince) and Deb Radloff (Farmer's Wife/Aniko).

The Caucasian Chalk Circle: Grusche, a young servant girl, sacrifices everything to protect a child abandoned in the heat of civil war. When order is restored, Grusche is made to confront the boy's biological mother in a legal contest over who deserves to keep him. Brecht's playful parable calls into question our basic assumptions of right in a world that has gone wrong.

The play will be helmed by CSC's Artistic Director Brian Kulick, who last season directed F. Murray Abraham in the company's revival of Brecht's 'Galileo.'

Christopher Lloyd's (Azdak) best-known film roles are "Emmett 'Doc' Brown" in the "Back to the Future" trilogy, "Uncle Fester" in "The Addams Family" and its sequel "Addams Family Values," and "Judge Doom" in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." His TV credits include: "Stacked," "Clubhouse," "I Dream," "Deadly Games," "Back to the Future" and playing " Reverend Jim Ignatowski" in "Taxi." On Broadway he has appeared in 'Morning's at Seven,' 'Happy End' and 'Red, White and Maddox.'

Elizabeth A. Davis (Grusha) comes directly from the Tony & Grammy winning musical, 'Once,' where she received a Tony Award nomination, originating her role at American Repertory Theatre & New York Theatre Workshop. She's a 2013 Cherry Lane Mentor Project Fellow as playwright/performer in her work, Joe. Off-Broadway: 'The 39 Steps' (New World Stages), 'Wolves' (59E59), 'Emily & Dally with the Devil' (Theatre Row).

Tom Riis Farrell (The Corporal/Shuva/Fat Prince) Broadway: 'Chicago,' 'Coram Boy,' 'Dirty Blonde,' 'Wrong Mountain' and '1776.' Off-Broadway: A.R. Gurney's 'The Old Boy' (Keen), 'Arturo Ui' with Al Pacino (National Actors Theatre), 'Li'l Abner' (Encores!), 'Mary Rose and Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island' (Vineyard).

Alex Hurt (Simon) Broadway: 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.' Off-Broadway: 'Unrequited '(Public Theater, Shakespeare Lab).

Deb Radloff (Farmer's Wife/Aniko/Cook). CSC debut. NYC: 'Dance Dance Revolution' (Les Freres Corbusier), 'Girls Night: The Musical' (Sophia's Downstairs Cabaret).
