Tale of 2Cities at P.S. 122
Performance Space 122 and UCLA Live presents Tale of 2Cities: An American Joyride on Multiple Tracks, by Heather Woodbury, at P.S. 122 from 12 - 29 Oct 2006.
Tale of 2Cities is presented as two full-length parts, Part I: 'Grifters, Drifters and Dodgers' and Part II: 'Mega Mixicana Waltz.' The schedule permits back-to-back viewing on Saturdays and Sundays, or consecutive viewing Tuesday through Friday evenings.
Tale of 2Cities is inspired by the Brooklyn Dodgers' move to L.A. in 1957, this two-part epic delves into the lasting effects of that upheaval - and subsequent acts of urban erasure - on three generations of characters from both coasts.
Directed by Dudley Saunders, Tale of 2Cities features Winsome Brown, Michael Ray Escamilla, Tracey A. Leigh, Leo Marks, Diane Rodriguez, Ed Vassallo and Heather Woodbury herself (Playwright), all of whom play multiple roles ranging from 1940s Jewish leftists to contemporary Latino hipsters, as this tale of historic and contemporary uprooting and urban erasure unfolds.
