Sons of the Prophet: full cast announced
The Roundabout Theare Company has announced the full cast for the New York premiere of Stephen Karam's new play Sons of the Prophet, opening at the Laura Pels Theatre on 20 Oct 2011, following previews from 30 Sep, and play a limited engagement through to 23 Dec 2011.
Directed by Peter DuBois, Sons of the Prophet stars the previously announced Joanna Gleason (Gloria), she will be joined by Yusef Bulos (Bill), Jonathan Louis Dent (Vin), Santino Fontana (Joseph), Lizbeth Mackay (Mrs. McAndrew), Dee Nelson (Dr. Manor), Chris Perfetti (Charles) and Charles Socarides (Timothy).
The design team includes Anna Louizos (set), Bobby Frederick Tilley, II (costume), Japhy Weideman (lighting) and M.L. Dogg (sound).
Sons of the Prophet: A Lebanese family in PA is in crisis. But as they deal with crazy bosses, medical mysteries, and the end of the family line, they never lose their unbreakable sense of humor.
Sons of the Prophet was commissioned by Roundabout Theatre Company, and will be produced in association with Huntington Theatre Company where it recently had its world premiere.

Dee Nelson (Dr. Manor) is making her New York debut in Sons of the Prophet, having appeared in the world premiere with the Huntington Theatre Company. Charles Socarides' (Timothy) Off-Broadway credits: "The Marriage of Bette and Boo" and "Indian Blood." Films include: "Virgin," "The Missing Person" and "Breaking Upwards." TV guest appearances in "Law & Order" and "The Guiding Light."
Stephen Karam (Playwright) is the author of 'Speech & Debate' which was produced off-Broadway by Roundabout Theatre Company as the inaugural production of Roundabout Underground. Following an extended run in New York, 'Speech & Debate' has received over 100 productions across the U.S. and Canada. Other plays include Sons of the Prophet (co-world premiere by Huntington/Roundabout Theater Companies), 'columbinus' (New York Theatre Workshop), 'Girl on Girl' (Brown/Trinity Playwrights Rep), and 'Emma' (a re-imagining of Jane Austen's novel), performed this spring by the Professional Performing Arts High School in NYC.
Peter Dubois (Director) is the Artistic Director of the Huntington Theatre Company, where he has directed the world premieres of Stephen Karam's Sons of the Prophet, Bob Glaudini's 'Vengeance is the Lord's,' and David Grimm's 'The Miracle at Naples,' Craig Lucas' 'Prelude to a Kiss,' and Gina Gionfriddo's 'Becky Shaw.' He will direct Zach Braff's 'All Good People' at Second Stage Theatre this June, as well as Sons of the Prophet at the Roundabout Theatre Company and Gina Gionfriddo's 'Rapture, Blister, Burn' at Playwrights Horizons next season. He recently directed the Off-Broadway production of Paul Weitz's 'Trust' at Second Stage Theatre and the U.K. premiere of 'Becky Shaw' for London's Almeida Theatre in addition to directing its Off Broadway production at Second Stage Theatre and its world premiere at the Humana Festival of New American Plays at Actors Theatre of Louisville.
