Slowgirl extends run by two weeks
LCT3's production of Greg Pierce's Slowgirl has extended its run by two weeks, and will now play at the Claire Tow Theater through to 29 Jul 2012. The play opened at the Lincoln Center Theatres new venue, the Claire Tow Theateron 18 Jun 2012 following previews from 4 Jun 2012, and was originally scheduled to close on 15 Jul 2012.
The play opened to mixed, but mostly excellent reviews: Modest, sensitively drawn two-hander (NY Times); A winner (NY Daily News); Falls short of success (Back Stage); Winningly told and pays off emotionally (Newsroom Jersey).
Slowgirl is the story of a young woman (Sarah Steele) who flees to her reclusive uncle's (Željko Ivanek) retreat in the Costa Rican jungle to escape the aftermath of a horrific accident. The week they spend together forces them both to confront who they are as well as what it is they are running from.
Directed by Anne Kauffman, the two-hander play stars Zeljko Ivanek as the 'Uncle' and Sarah Steele as his neice 'Becky.'
The creative team features sets by Rachel Hauck, costumes by Emily Rebholz, lighting by JaphyWeideman and sound by Leah Gelpe.
