The concert-style musical Six tells the story of the six wives of Henry VIII — in their own words. Reimagined as a modern girl group, the Queens compete over who had it worst as Henry's wife by singing original pop tunes in the style of Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Adele, and more.
As they do so, they realize banding together and celebrating each other's lives — often left out of textbooks — is the best way to change how history remembers them.
The score, by Six co-creators Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, won a 2022 Tony Award, and the show received eight total nominations including Best Musical.
