Bess Wohl's acclaimed play about multiple generations of the feminist movement is at the James Earl Jones Theatre following an award-winning Off-Broadway premiere.
Summary
- Liberation centers on a 1970s feminist group and its founder's daughter looking back on that history 50 years later
- The full award-winning cast from the play's Off-Broadway premiere returns for the Broadway limited run
Here's your first look at Liberation on Broadway, Bess Wohl's revolutionary play now at the James Earl Jones Theatre for a limited time only after an award-winning Off-Broadway premiere earlier this year.
Liberation jumps between the 1970s, when a group of suburban Ohio women start a feminist group to make change, and the 2020s, when the founder's daughter tries to piece together how her mom went from there to a traditional life. The entire cast, who won multiple Outstanding Ensemble Awards off Broadway, reprises their roles: Betsy Aidem as Margie, Audrey Corsa as Dora, Kayla Davion as Joanne, Susannah Flood as Lizzie, Kristolyn Lloyd as Celeste, Irene Sofia Lucio as Isidora, Charlie Thurston as Bill, and Adina Verson as Susan.
